A selection of graphic systems1 and digital experiences2

Design has been part of Damola Afolabi's life for over a decade. Through Afolabi Design Co, he works across brand identity, visual systems, merchandise and digital experiences — building thoughtful work shaped by culture, research, storytelling and a deep interest in design as both system and expression.

Approach

I. Practice

Every project begins with research, observation, and cultural investigation. Drawing from history, architecture, music, fashion, typography, and everyday systems, Afolabi Design Co studies the source before creating the outcome. The goal is not trend-following, but understanding where meaning originates and how it evolves across different contexts.

II. Method

Through analysis and reduction, core ideas are isolated into usable visual language. Symbols, forms, textures, narratives, and behaviors are broken down into their essential components. This stage focuses on identifying what truly matters so the work communicates with clarity and intention.

III. Independent Practice

Ideas are transformed into structured visual systems that can scale across multiple touchpoints. Rather than designing isolated assets, the studio builds frameworks — identity systems, layouts, typography, motion, and interaction principles — that create consistency while remaining flexible and expressive.

IV. Collaboration

The final outcome lives beyond presentation. Systems are applied across digital experiences, brand identities, campaigns, merchandise, and physical environments with a focus on usability, longevity, and cultural resonance. Every execution is designed to feel intentional, cohesive, and alive in the real world.
